Ever see that Calvin and Hobbes where Calvin screams at the top of his lungs about how he wants people to leave him alone, then scowls and laments that no one ever picks up on his subtle pleas for attention? You have? Well, in that case...
LEAVE ME ALONE!!!
A lack of attention for a Leo is like a lack of air to a fish. I mean, a lack of water to a fish. Or fish to water, or something like that. In any case, I'm starved for attention.
No, not just sexual attention. Though I am feeling mild pangs in that department as well. Hook me up.
Ever notice how many people try to pretend like they don't notice you when you go about your day? Or were you too busy trying not to notice? Drives me nuts. I mean, I was born and raised 'round here. Why is it that so many people walk around with walls constantly surrounding them?
I'm the type of person who likes to smile and nod and say hi to everyone, with only the simple expectation that I will receive similar courtesy in kind. Apparently people are more interested in looking off a half mile into the distance when I draw near, or they suddenly become deaf-mute and fear eye contact.
Do I smell?
Am I that much of an eyesore?
Pride, man. It's a killer thing. Everybody's got a little. Everybody's trying to get on top of somebody, every day through many little ways. And there's no way to put somebody down like pretending they aren't even there.
Work's been rockin', though. 'Cause I rock. Yeah.
All those poor people I've been talkin' 'bout, I feel really sad for them, knowin' all the rockin' they're missin' out on.

Ever have someone in your life who you were once interested in, but you eventually noticed that she was fundamentally incapable of opening up any topic of discussion which did not pertain to her? It's not that she's a bad person, or that she's not interested in you at all; it somehow finally dawns on you that she's perhaps received so much attention in her life that she doesn't realize that sometimes the people around her would like to be asked how their day went from time to time.
Eh. Fuck her. ;)
So how was your day, people? Tell me if you haven't already. You've got the IM.
As for me, well...
Things are picking up at work. The "20-megabyte hairball", as I affectionately call it, is starting to take a definite shape and form. Now it's more like a "20-megabyte hairdoll", if you can imagine that. I can bend its arms and legs and get it into all sorts of interesting positions, to the point where I've finally begun to train it to fulfill some of my utmost desires.
Yes, it's been a while. Perhaps it's best that way.
I think my imood was almost funny the other day. No, really. I was sayin' I was all "yummy" and instructed my readership to address me as "Tenacious B". But, alas, it'll take a while for me to be consistently funny. Please be patient.
Sometime I'll have to tell you about seeing Les Mis for the first time last week, then buying the novel and being enraptured by it, blah blah woof woof. But right now, it's beddy-bye time...

Wow, OK, so I finally did it; I finally created myself a 'blog.
Hmm. So now what?
Right now, I think it's time to head for Barnes and Noble's, get a couple books, get a cup o' coffee, and chill for a while. I'm sure I'll have something entertaining to spout off later...
Something I just noticed: I know part of the terms of service involved agreeing to permit advertisement banners to appear at the top of the page, but I wish there was a way to filter out certain advertisers and/or advertisements. I just checked my page and noticed a "Win a Free X-Box!" ad at the top. Microsoft. Grrr.
